Sides and races
Alliance and Horde
The side is chosen when the hero is made and never changes. It decides where the hero starts, where it is at home and who its enemies are.
| Alliance | Horde | |
|---|---|---|
| Races | humans, elves, dwarves | undead, orcs, trolls |
| First land | Ashvale | Barrowmoor |
| Second (level 30) | Thornmarch | Blackmire |
| Third (level 60) | Cinderreach | Gravemere |
| Capital in Dreadhollow | Highcrown (west) | Bloodkeep (east) |
- Race is looks only. It changes neither characteristics nor classes: every class is open to every race.
- The other side is the enemy. Where heroes may fight, a hero strikes only heroes of the other side (in the arena – everyone). The name of a hero of the other side is always red.
- Foreign towns. The guards of capitals and towns attack heroes of the other side. On a foreign land a hero appears by the portal, at the wayfarers’ camp, not in a town.
- Tongues. The Alliance speaks the common tongue, the Horde the speech of the dead. A line said by a hero of the other side reaches you in its tongue: the words are swapped for strange ones.
- Parties and clans gather heroes of one side only.
